Hunger, high cost of living not only in Nigeria – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says the economic hardship bedeviling Nigerians is not peculiar to the country, saying it is a global issue.

The president made the claim in his nationwide broadcast on Tuesday to mark the 2024 Independence Day anniversary.

He said, “The central concern of our people today is the high cost of living, especially food costs.

“This concern is shared by many around the globe as prices and the cost of living continue to rise worldwide”.

President Tinubu, however, assured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the hardship is alleviated.

“My fellow Nigerians, be assured that we are implementing many measures to reduce the cost of living here at home”, he added.

Meanwhile, Nigerian youths are expected to stage a nationwide protest against hunger and other lingering economic challenges bedeviling them.
