THE WHISTLER senior reporter, Nneoma Benson, and the love of her life, Chibueze Ikeh, exchanged vows in a beautiful wedding ceremony on Saturday at Christ Embassy Church, Awka, Anambra State. However, what makes their love story truly special is the chance encounter that brought them together.
Surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones, the wedding, which came under the motif #ForeverIsU&Me, spotted top media gurus among other dignitaries.
It was 2017, and Nneoma was on her way to the International Cell Leaders Conference (ICLC), a program by the Christ Embassy church, in Lagos.
Chibueze, who came to drop off someone at the GIG park, spotted Nneoma at a park and was immediately smitten. He sent a mutual acquaintance to ask for her number, but Nneoma initially hesitated.
“I didn’t get it; I told him to tell Chibueze to come to meet me himself,” Nneoma recalled in an exclusive interview.
But Chibueze was persistent, and eventually, Nneoma relented and shared her number. The rest, as they say, is history. Nneoma and Chibueze started talking and quickly discovered a deep connection.
They shared similar values, interests, and faith. Fast forward to the present, and the couple is now embarking on a new journey together.
Nneoma expressed her gratitude, saying, “I feel good; I feel elated, and I cannot wait for the opportunities and challenges that come with marriage. I cannot wait to celebrate the successes that come with marriage too.
“I know that marriage is not easy, but when you’re doing it with someone you love, respect, and who supports your dreams, you know you can surmount life’s challenges together.”
The couple went on to extend their thanks to God for bringing them together and to their loved ones for their support.
