His energy is different – Arteta singles out Arsenal star after win over Leverkusen

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has hailed Gabriel Jesus’ performance in their 4-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday evening.

Jesus scored the third goal as the Gunners romped to a comfortable victory at the Emirates.

The Brazilian striker was a bundle of energy in and out of possession, making runs and snapping into challenges.

Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, appears to have benefitted from an uninterrupted summer after a string of injury setbacks last eason.

“The first feeling when I saw him at the end of the season was something different.

“I could feel it. His energy was different. His appearance, his movement was different. And he really wanted it,” Arteta said during his press conference.
