‘He tolerated everybody’ – Ex-APC Vice Chair, Salihu Lukman reveals Buhari’s ‘weakness’

Lukman Salihu, former Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Northwest, on Wednesday disclosed the weakness of the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

Salihu stated that Buhari’s disposition towards tolerating everybody was both his weakness and his strength.

Featuring on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Salihu said the decision to be open to everybody laid the foundation for the assessment of his administration.

He said: “Buhari lived a full life, and on different sides of the divide, there are different interpretations. Buhari’s weakness is his strength, and his weakness is that he has this non-interventionist attitude. He tolerated everything around him, and that appears to be his strength.

“Almost everybody could relate with him, and he would accept them as part and parcel of him.

“That became the bigger challenge, and that laid the ground for some of the major criticism around the assessment of his leadership.”

Buhari died in a London clinic last week Sunday and was flown back to Nigeria.

On Tuesday, Buhari was buried in his hometown of Daura, in Katsina State.

Buhari was given a state burial, with President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other top government functionaries present.

Also, some foreign leaders were present during the burial.
