Gunmen kill vigilante, abduct family of three in Katsina
Armed men have killed a vigilante and abducted three members of a family in Katsina metropolis.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday at Filin Canada Quarters, behind Steel Rolling Mill, where the assailants broke into the residence of one Anas Ahmadu and kidnapped him, his wife Halimatu, and their daughter, Jidda.
A vigilante in the area, Abdullahi Muhammad, was shot while attempting to resist the abduction. He later died at the General Hospital, Katsina.
Police and other security agencies have launched a manhunt for the attackers and efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims.
