Tragedy struck in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as gunmen brutally murdered Richard Timothy-Jaminiwa, the Chief Security Officer of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, along with his 23-year-old son, Tola Silas.

The horrific incident occurred at the Jaminiwa family residence in Igwuruta Ali, leaving the community in shock and grief.

According to eyewitnesses and the victim’s widow, Grace, the attack occurred around 7 pm when Richard Timothy-Jaminiwa returned home.

She said a group of approximately seven gunmen, clad in black, ambushed him as he drove into his compound.

The assailants opened fire, killing Richard and his son, Tola, in cold blood.

In a heart-wrenching account, Grace revealed that she was taken into a nearby bush by the gunmen after they shot her husband.

She described the traumatic experience, stating that the attackers seemed to have been motivated by a desire to silence her husband.

She also revealed that her husband had reportedly received multiple threats from individuals opposed to his stance against the looting of properties at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

As the Chief Security Officer, he had been vocal about his efforts to prevent vandalism and theft at the stadium.

As of press time, the Rivers State Police Command had not commented on the incident.
