Gunmen kill police inspector, abduct wife in Kaduna community
Gunmen have killed a police inspector, Donfa Chirtip and abducted his wife, Victoria at Kurmin Kare in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, made this known on X.
Makama explained that Donfa was returning from his farmland with his wife on Friday when he was attacked, saying that he was attached with the Special Protection Unit Base 7, Abuja.
The cop’s lifeless body was found in farmland within the community later in the evening on Friday, adding that Security operatives, who arrived at the scene, found a deep cut on his neck.
He explained that preliminary investigation suggests that the inspector and his wife, Mrs. Victoria Chirtip, had gone to the farm earlier in the morning around 7:00 a.m. on a motorcycle.
“They were believed to have been ambushed by unknown assailants on their way back in the evening,” he further explained.
A medical officer confirmed the victim dead when his remains were taken to the Doka General Hospital.
Efforts by security operatives were said to be ongoing to locate the missing wife and apprehend the suspects responsible for the attack.
Mansir Hassan, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, could not be reached to confirm the incident.
