Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has charged newly appointed judges in the state to prioritize the prompt dispensation of justice as a crucial element in building public trust and strengthening the rule of law.

Governor Lawal gave the charge on Wednesday during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed High Court judges and Shari’ah Court of Appeal Kadis at the Grand Chamber of the Government House in Gusau.

The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, administered the oath of office and allegiance to three High Court judges, Garba Sirajo, Bashir Rabi, and Abdullahi Nasir, and three Kadis of the Shari’ah Court of Appeal, Ibrahim Jibril, Muhammad Sanusi Magami, and Sha’aban Mansir.

Speaking at the event, Governor Lawal said the appointments followed due process and were approved by the National Judicial Council, NJC.

He urged the new judicial officers to uphold professionalism, integrity, and impartiality in the discharge of their duties.
“A just and fair society rests on timely and unbiased dispensation of justice,” the governor said.

“This is especially critical as we work to rebuild Zamfara and strengthen governance through accountability.”
Governor Lawal pledged continued support for the judiciary and stressed the importance of collaboration between the executive and judicial arms of government. He assured the judges of improved working conditions, including allowances and necessary tools to aid their performance.

He also noted that the appointments reflect the depth of experience of the judges and urged them to approach their responsibilities with a sense of duty and fairness.
