FG Pays Second Tranche Of N35,000 Wage Award Arrears

The federal government has paid the second tranche of the N35,000 wage award arrears to federal government workers.
This was disclosed by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.
According to the OAGF, the government had earlier paid one month out of the initial five-month backlog of the wage award arrears.
The OAGF dismissed claims suggesting that the federal government had reneged on the payments, stating that the arrears will continue to be settled in monthly instalments of N35,000 until fully cleared.
“The federal government remains committed to fulfilling its obligation to workers and will continue the phased payment until all arrears are exhausted,” the statement noted.
