Federal Workers Forum coordinator collapses during arraignment in court
The National Coordinator of Federal Workers Forum, FWF, Mr Andrew Emelieze on Thursday collapsed during his arraignment at the Federal High Court in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
DAILY POST reports that Emelieze has been in the forefront of agitation for workers welfare and payment of arrears of N35,000 wage awards and other demands on the Federal Government.
He was brought to the court by the Department of State Services, DSS, on Thursday.
Our correspondent learnt that Emelieze was detained on June 30, 2025 by the DSS in Ibadan and subsequently released on Tuesday 1st July, 2025.
Our correspondent reports that Emelieze was brought to court by the DSS for arraignment on Thursday.
He was brought to court on a four-count-charge bordering on alleged injurious statement against the Federal Government, threat to protest at Aso Rock and declining DSS invitation.
He collapsed before the charges could be read to him.
The development forced Justice Nkeonye Maha to quickly rise in order to allow the defendant to be revived.
The judge then adjourned the case till October 24 for arraignment.
