Many Nigerians hoping to apply for jobs with the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) have expressed frustration as the recruitment portal remained inaccessible on Monday, July 21, 2025, the date it was supposed to reopen.

The board had earlier announced that applicants who had already started their applications would be able to return to the portal on July 21 to complete the process.

Also, President Bola Tinubu posted Monday morning, stating that the portal would become accessible Monday morning(Today).

But several people who tried to access the portal said it was not opening.

One applicant, posting under the name Able God Digital on X wrote, “Omo, wetin my eye don see for this application ehn, I fit use one week cry if I’m not shortlisted. How on earth will I be the developer and still be applying? I’m telling people network issue is not politic.”

Another user, Victor.dev, expressed disappointment at the website’s performance. “Why not hire efficient developers to enhance and optimise this their website? How much could it even cost the government? Omo.”

In the same vein, Ayomide Jamilu said, “The portal is not working. Kindly help inform those in charge.”

This is the second time the reopening of the CDCFIB recruitment portal has been delayed.

The board had earlier apologized for the pause in the application process, saying the system was being upgraded due to high traffic.

In a statement on Thursday, the Secretary to the Board, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, said that the temporary suspension was to optimize the efficiency of the recruitment portal.

As of the time of this report, no official update has been given on when the portal will be accessible.
