FCTA Renovates Over 60 Schools, Pledges Multi-Sector Development
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, said that the FCT administration has renovated and furnished over 60 public schools across the territory.
Wike disclosed this on Friday during an inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects in Gwagwalada and Kwali Area Councils.
“We have done a lot of work in schools. The schools we have renovated and furnished are more than 60 so far. I can tell you that no sector would be left abandoned; every sector will be focused on,” the minister stated.
“When there are no roads, which school will you go to? When there are no roads, which hospital will you go to?” he queried.
Wike noted that improved road access is crucial for rural and farming communities, citing the A2 to Pai road.
According to the minister, the road will enable farmers to transport their produce to urban markets, thereby boosting agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods.
He added, “When people commit offences and there is no road to chase them, it becomes a problem. But when you see this kind of road with street lights, you will have to think twice before you commit any offence.”
