Ex-Rep Daramola Hails Adetunbi’s Appointment As South-West Devt Commission Chair

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has congratulated Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi on his appointment as Chairman of the South-West Development Commission (SWDC).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently nominated Senator Adetunbi as one of the board members of the newly established commission.

His name was among the list read on the floor of the Senate on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Oluwaseyi Akinluyi, Daramola lauded President Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for what he described as a strategic and thoughtful appointment.

Describing Adetunbi as “a reliable and quality hand,” Daramola expressed confidence in the former senator’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of the South-West region.

“Senator Adetunbi has always been one of Ekiti State’s finest ambassadors. His vast experience in governance and development initiatives makes him well-suited for this critical role,” Daramola said.

Adetunbi, who hails from Ifaki-Ekiti in the Ekiti North Senatorial District, previously served in the National Assembly, where he earned commendation for his legislative contributions and commitment to regional development.

Daramola, popularly known as ‘Congressman’, urged stakeholders and the public to rally behind the new chairman, emphasizing that the same support given to Governor Oyebanji should be extended to Adetunbi.

“Our collective future, ‘Nitori Ojo Ola Wa’, depends on how well we support capable leaders at every level,” he added.

The South-West Development Commission was recently established to drive infrastructure, economic growth, and social development across the six states of the South-West geopolitical zone.
