Ethereum Foundation Broadens Ecosystem Focus to Support Global Adoption
The Ethereum Foundation is shifting its strategy to better align with the growing and diverse interest in Ethereum from users far beyond its traditional developer base.
Recognising Ethereum’s expanding role across sectors—from startups and enterprises to governments—the Foundation is revamping its approach to ecosystem development.
Instead of concentrating solely on technical upgrades, the newly reintroduced Ecosystem Development (EcoDev) team is now focused on lowering the barriers that hinder broader Ethereum adoption.
The emphasis is on making the platform more accessible and practical for a wider range of users while ensuring Ethereum remains rooted in its user-first philosophy.
Under the new strategy, EcoDev efforts are organised into four key focus areas:
Acceleration: Helping developers, startups, and enterprises build and scale on Ethereum faster by offering mentorship, connections, and direct support.
Amplification: Driving public awareness and community growth through events, digital content, and media outreach, enhanced by tools like AI and automation.
Support: Providing financial and operational backing via grants and advisory services to ensure project sustainability and strong governance across the Ethereum ecosystem.
Unblocking: Collaborating with governments, universities, and global institutions to remove systemic adoption hurdles and lay the groundwork for Ethereum’s global expansion.
The Foundation emphasises that this is just the beginning. Its support structure will continue to evolve alongside Ethereum itself. Community participation remains a core part of the vision, and all stakeholders—from builders to institutional players—are encouraged to join the effort to shape Ethereum’s future.
