Former Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has criticised English referee Chris Kavanagh over his decision to send Declan Rice off in the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Brighton on Sunday.

The Gunners took the lead in the 38th minute through Kai Havertz with Bukayo Saka assisting.

Declan Rice first received a caution after committing a foul on Brighton’s Joël Veltman in the 42nd minute, got a second booking in the 49th minute and had to leave the pitch.

The Seagulls netted their equalizer with João Pedro’s goal in the 58th minute.

“Always an honour to be invited back to Arsenal Thanks to @noddy6950 for looking after us!! Ref should’ve borrowed Leo’s glasses.”

Jenkinson, who watched the match live at the Emirates Stadium, wrote on Instagram.
