EPL: Xavi Simons’ squad number at Tottenham confirmed
The Netherlands international signed a long-term contract with the Premier League club on Friday.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joined Spurs from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
However, Simons was handed the number 7 jersey at Tottenham.
DAILY POST reports that former Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min wore the number 7 last season.
The South Korea international had left Tottenham earlier this summer for Major League Soccer, MLS, side Los Angeles.
Simons will now hope to fill Son’s shoe at Tottenham this season.
