EPL: Why Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4-2 – Arne Slot

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has hailed his team’s fitness following their 4-2 win over Bournemouth on the Premier League’s opening day on Friday.

The Reds went in front through Hugo Ekitike’s debut goal, before Cody Gakpo made it 2-0 after the break.

Antoine Semenyo then scored a brace, before goals from Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah won the game for the hosts.

Slot has admitted they were up against opponents that never give up, but his players were up to the task.

“We started the second half really well, being 2-0 up but we were playing against a team that never gives up,” Slot told BBC Sport.

“You have to give credit to them but they faced a team that is very fit as well.”
