EPL: Why I chose Man City over Arsenal – Nypan
New Manchester City midfielder, Sverre Nypan, has spoken for the first time since his official unveiling on Thursday.
Nypan admitted that the chance to work with the “best in the world” Pep Guardiola was too good to turn down.
Several Premier League clubs were interested in the young Norwegian following his impressive performances at Rosenborg.
At one point, Arsenal believed they were leading the race to sign Nypan, relying on the influence of Martin Ødegaard, the captain of the Norway national team.
However, the 18-year-old has opted to join City in a deal worth £12.5 million.
“I am still very young with a lot to learn but the chance to be coached by Pep Guardiola, the best manager in the world, will only help me to become a better player,” Nypan said.
“There is already a special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb, and I am very proud to have become the latest Norwegian player to have joined the club.”
