EPL: They’ll get it done – Paul Merson predicts team to win title this season

Paul Merson, former Arsenal star, has predicted the Gunners to claim the Premier League title this season.

Merson believes Mikel Arteta’s side will get it done this season after finishing in second position last season behind champions Liverpool.

According to him, Arsenal have made two key signings – a holding midfielder and a centre-forward – to bolster their chances to claim the English top-flight league.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson said: “If you ask me to pick the favourites to win the Premier League right now, I would have to go with Arsenal.

“They needed a holding midfielder and a centre-forward this summer and Mikel Arteta has filled both those gaps quite well in my opinion.

“I believe Arsenal and Liverpool are the leading contenders [for the Premier League title this season] and it’ll all come down to who can keep their best players fit throughout the season.

” Liverpool did that last time out and ended up winning the league. Arsenal need to do the same, and I’ve a feeling they’ll get it done this time.”
