EPL: Incoming Man City sporting director identifies Guardiola’s replacement

Hugo Viana will push for Sporting CP manager, Ruben Amorim, to replace Pep Guardiola if he becomes the director of football at Manchester City.

With Txiki Begiristain set to step down after 12 years, Viana is the top candidate to replace him.

It is even believed City have begun talks with him.

According to Record, Viana will seek to bring Amorim with him to the Premier League.

Guardiola’s current deal with the Etihad club will expire at the end of the season.

So far, there is no indication from him or the club as to whether he will extend his stay.

In the past, Guardiola has made it clear that working with Begiristain has been a key factor in signing contract extensions in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
