EPL: Chelsea face FA hammer after 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest

Chelsea have landed in trouble following their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

The FA will fine the Blues £50,000 for receiving six yellow cards in the clash.

Moisés Caicedo got the first booking of the match for committing a foul on Morgan Gibbs-White in the 21st minute.

Referee Chris Kavanagh slammed Nottingham Forest’s James Ward-Prowse with the game’s second yellow card for committing a foul on Cole Palmer in the 36th minute.

The visitors took the lead just four minutes into the second half as Chris Wood tapped the ball home after being set up by Nikola Milenkovic’s header.

Chelsea found their equalizer through Noni Madueke, who was set up by Cole Palmer in the 57th minute.

Palmer was shown a yellow card for dissent in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest were reduced to ten men after James Ward-Prowse was shown his second booking in the 78th minute.

Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Levi Colwill, along with Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams, were booked by Chris Kavanagh in the 89th minute for a scuffle involving the trio.

Forest shot-stopper Matz Sels was given a yellow card for time wasting in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage-time.

Chelsea’s forward, Pedro Neto was booked for committing a foul on Nicolás Domínguez three minutes later.

French defender, Wesley Fofana was shown the sixth yellow card for Chelsea for a foul on Jota Silva in the 12th minute of stoppage time.

According to journalist Kieran Gill, the FA will slam Chelsea with a penalty of £50,000 for the bookings, which is also their second offence this season.

DAILY POST reported that Enzo Maresca’s men received eight yellow cards in their league clash against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on September 14.

The Blues set a record for most yellow cards in a league game, with referee Anthony Taylor handing out 14 bookings overall.
