Enugu LG Chairman Orders Arrest Of Traffic Violators

The Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon John Ogbodo, has ordered the arrest of vehicles he nabbed driving against the traffic along Enugu-Port-PortHarcourt expressway, by Four Corner.
It would be recalled that over ten persons died on the same spot on September 3rd, 2025 in two separate accidents that involved trucks, buses and cars. The dual carriageway has been under construction by the federal government for over a decade. The bad portions of some parts of the road force some drivers to drive against the traffic.
Hon Ogbodo, who was on-the-spot assessment of the road on Friday, frowned at the refusal of motorists to abide by traffic rules to avert avoidable road mishaps.
He wrote on his facebook page that, “I revisited the Four Corners junction where an accident recently occurred. To my dismay, I still met some commuters driving against traffic. I had to personally intervene and stop them from endangering others. Driving against traffic is unlawful, unsafe, and must stop. I repeat my call on the Road Safety Corps to intensify efforts to curb this menace. Together, let us keep our roads safe and protect lives.”
He was seen in a video ordering the operatives of FRSC to arrest vehicles that defaulted and evacuate them to the FRSC office, Ozalla, for prosecution.
