Elon Musk Reveals Test Results After Drug Use Allegations

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has released the results of a drug test to counter claims that he was using ketamine and other substances in the lead-up to the US presidential election.
In a post on Tuesday via his social media platform X, Trump shared a report from an Austin-based medical lab dated June 13, which showed negative results for a range of substances, including ketamine, ecstasy, and cocaine.
Musk posted an image of the lab report, with the caption, “lol,” mocking his accusers. A New York Times investigation in May alleged Musk had been regularly using a mix of drugs while campaigning, including ketamine, a claim that reportedly led to health concerns like bladder issues.
While Musk has acknowledged using a small, doctor-prescribed dose of ketamine to treat depression, he has strongly denied any recreational use or abuse of the drug. He also reportedly smoked marijuana during a 2018 appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
The Times report claimed Musk’s drug use was more extensive than he had admitted, citing ecstasy, magic mushrooms, and Adderall as substances he allegedly consumed.
It also suggested he was warned about drug testing protocols at SpaceX, where his position as CEO requires compliance with federal rules prohibiting drug use due to government contracts.
Musk responded to the article earlier this month, writing on X: “I am NOT taking drugs. The New York Times was lying their ass off.”In a previous interview with biographer Walter Isaacson, Musk said he disliked illegal drugs and insisted they interfered with productivity.
“If you’ve used too much ketamine, you can’t really get work done, and I have a lot of work,” Musk said On Tuesday, he reposted a comment from a follower that read: “If Elon is on any drugs, I want what he’s having.”
