Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved a work-from-home policy for civil servants in the state to alleviate the economic challenges workers are facing.
The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by Yinka Oyebode, the governor’s chief press secretary.
According to the statement, under the new policy, civil servants on levels 1-7 will work from home three days a week, those on levels 8-12 will work remotely for two days, and officers on levels 13-17 will work from home once a week.
It noted that the policy will take effect from Monday, September 9, 2024, and will be in place for two months. The policy is subject to periodic review based on prevailing economic conditions.
“The arrangement will be in place for a period of two months and is subject to periodic review in line with prevailing circumstances,” the statement reads.
“Also, the arrangement does not affect other palliative measures put in place by the state government including the monthly wage award for workers and pensioners; and the free bus service for workers and students.
“The Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration is committed to workers’ welfare and will continue to put in place necessary measures to enhance their productivity,” the statement read.
Governor Oyebanji reassured Ekiti workers that his administration is committed to their welfare, and emphasised that the new policy is designed to support them through these challenging times while ensuring their productivity is maintained.
