EFCC Trains 100 Officers on Forensic Document Examination
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has trained 100 of its staff on forensic document examination, digital forensics, fingerprinting, and crime scene management in Enugu State.
The one-day course attracted participants from different ranks with the theme “Forensics Revamped: Empowering Investigations”, organised by the Commission’s Forensics and Crime Laboratory Services Department (FCLSD).
Earlier, while declaring the training open, the Acting Zonal Director of the commission’s Enugu Zonal Directorate, Deputy Commander Mohammed Shuaib Bello, who was represented by Assistant Commander Ekerendu Effiong, said the commission has the best forensics experts in West Africa.
He charged participants to make the most of the exposure that the training offers.
The programme was designed to improve laboratory operations and procedures, modernise forensics techniques, use advanced technologies, and provide complete training to first responders.
The Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, DSE Ladi Akujobi, taught on types of Digital Forensics, including Computer Forensics, Live Forensics, Mobile Forensics, and Network Forensics.
Officers were also trained in fingerprint and crime scene management, as well as forensic audio, video, and image analysis.
The Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, DSE Kenechukwu Nnaji, took participants on Fingerprint and Crime Scene Management.
