Edo Govt Shuts Down Ambrose Alli University’s Satellite Campuses

The Edo State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all satellite campuses of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, dated February 11, 2025, the government directed that all programmes and courses must now be conducted solely at the university’s main campus in Ekpoma.

“In line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to raising the standard of Ambrose Alli University and the government’s significant investment in the institution, all satellite campuses operating outside the main campus are hereby shut down with immediate effect,” she said.

It further stated that the Governing Council and management of the university have been directed to comply with the new policy.

Recall that the University has early this year disowned satellite campuses and called on security agencies to arrest and prosecute any operator of satellite campuses.

The institution has stated it has not given permission to anyone to run any satellite campus on its behalf, either directly or indirectly.
