Economy: Nigeria’s political class visionless, corrupt – Northern group
A group under the aegis of the Northern League of Democrats, NLD, has decried the state of Nigerian economy, stressing that it has been dwindling over the years.
The convener of the group, Umar Ardo, stated this on Friday, while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television.
According to him, Nigeria’s political class are visionless and corrupt.
“The unity of Nigeria is at stake; insecurity and all sorts of vices have plagued Nigerian states because the political class cannot drive Nigeria into development.
“Over the years, Nigeria’s economy has been dwindling; the political class are visionless and corrupt.
“We know that there are politicians that are just trying to use politics in order to build up their pockets. But a whole lot of us are not like that.
“We are patriotic. We have a clear vision. We know where to drive the country to, and we have our strategy to get to where we want to get.”
