Delta Man Arrested After Lying To Police About Killing Boss To Steal Truck

The Delta State Police have arrested a suspect, Ifeanyi Chukwu, 25, over the death of his principal, David Nkuma, and theft of his 911 truck.

The police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, whose recent post on X revealed details of the incident, said Chukwu not only carted away the truck but he also lied.

In the video post, Edafe said that Chukwu, while driving the truck, was flagged down by police operatives on a stop and search operation.

He noted that when the operative quizzed Chukwu on the ownership of the truck, Chukwu said he had killed the owner with a machete and is now the new owner of the truck.

Edafe wondered why the suspect lied about killing his principal who was still alive.

When Edafe asked him the reason for his statement, Chukwu said, “I thought they would leave me and the truck” after pretending to be murderer.

The owner of the truck, in the video, confirmed that he had last seen his truck about two weeks ago.

Nkuma said Chukwu began working for him as a driver out of compassion to assist him.

He said, “The Truck went missing after I had gone to check the parking lot and didn’t find it there. I called him several times and his number was switched off.

“Chukwu slept in my house the night before he stole the truck. But he opened the house about 3:30 am because we were not aware of the time he left.

“He also didn’t tell me he needed the truck for any business that morning. This is because we go together for jobs and before that day, I told him we had to load the sand on the truck, so we needed to wake up early for it.”
