An Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City has remanded five suspects for alleged kidnapping of one Mr. Iseriere.

DAILY POST reports that the presiding judge, Justice A. N. Erhabor ordered the accused to be remanded in Oko prison.

The accused namely Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi and Jeffery Igbinoba were arraigned before the court by the Department of State Services, DSS, in Benin City.

The accused persons were alleged to have kidnapped the said Iseriere on June 13, 2025 in the Eyean area along the Benin-Auchi road.

In its ruling the judge said the offence for which the suspects were charged contravened Section 2(1) of the Edo State Kidnapping Prohibition Law of 2013.

The court, however, adjourned the case to a later date, pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP), to determine the next line of action in the prosecution.
