An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Friday remanded 11 men in a correctional facility for an alleged armed robbery.

The defendants are Musa Abdulahi, 23, Abdulahi Sodiq, 26, Umaru Dama, 27, Usman Sule, 23, Sule Abubakar, 21, Muhammadu Abdulahi, 30, Muhammed Bello, 25 and Musa Amu, 22.

Others are, Muhammed Abdulahi, 23, Abu Abdulahi, 30 and Muhammadu Abubakar, 28.

They are standing trial on a count charge of armed robbery.

The Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, did not take the plea of the defendants for want of jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

She thereafter adjourned the case until Nov. 14 for mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Sept. 13, at 9.00 a.m., in the Saki area of Oyo State.

Omilana said the defendants, while armed with a gun and cutlasses, robbed two people of goods valued at N340,000.

According to him, the defendants stole three bags of Soya beans worth N60,000 from one Mr Moshood Isau and a motorcycle worth N280,000 from one Mr Ibrahim Yuma.

He said the offence contravened Section 1 (2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.
