Content Creators Guild Signs Partnership To Establish Professional Standards
The Practitioners of Content Creators, Skit-Makers, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN) has entered a partnership with the Nigerian Institute for Social Media Analysts (NISMA) to establish professional standards in Nigeria’s fast-growing digital industry.
The partnership was announced by PCCSIGN’s National President, Mr. Michael Nwabufo, otherwise known as Mike Premium, in Lagos on Tuesday.
Nwabufo stated that the agreement represents a major step toward structuring Nigeria’s content creation industry, which has seen tremendous growth in recent years.
“The digital landscape in Nigeria has expanded rapidly, offering incredible opportunities for our digital talents. However, with this growth, the need for industry standards, ethical guidelines, and recognition of these professionals has also become essential,” Nwabufo explained.
He said the partnership seeks to ensure that digital talents receive the acknowledgment, resources, and protection needed to succeed.
While highlighting the role of digital influence as a key economic driver, Nwabufo stated that content creation and digital influence are no longer secondary sectors but vital contributors to national growth.
According to him, initiatives under the partnership, such as a professional certification for content creators, will harness this potential and cultivate a thriving, structured industry that can significantly impact Nigeria’s economy.
“We believe that content creation and digital influence are no longer secondary sectors.
“They are primary drivers of economic growth and have the power to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“This industry holds a wealth of untapped potential for job creation and entrepreneurship, especially among the vibrant youth population.
“By establishing clear standards and practices such as creating a certification to professionalise content creators in the country amongst others, we aim to harness this potential and build a thriving ecosystem that supports Nigerian talents,” he said.
Frank Mba, President of NISMA and Deputy Inspector General of Police urged PCCSIGN to always consider the nation’s interests in their work, particularly regarding national security, morality, and overall welfare.
“When you do your work, put these things at the back of your mind. Let us together make our country a better one. Guide against anything capable of diminishing our national values and develop content that promotes Nigeria positively on the global stage,” Mba advised.
