Italian tactician Enzo Maresca has disclosed that Chelsea Football Club is not just about Cole Palmer but Chelsea is about the entire squad of players that they have at the moment.
Maresca who made remarks after Chelsea’s loss to Liverpool said that it is a big mistake if one thinks Cole Palmer is going to solve all the problems of the club.
According to him, it is wrong to put all the pressure on his young shoulders because Chelsea has other players who are doing well for the club.
He said; “If we think that Cole Palmer is going to solve all our problems, it’s a big mistake.
“We put all the pressure on his shoulders and that is wrong. We have many players that are doing well. It’s not just about Cole, it’s about the squad”.
Maresca also talked about the progress made by Malo Gusto: “Fantastic player. I’m very happy with Malo”.
“He’s giving us many things. He’s helping the process in the way we want to play a lot. He’s doing very, very well. For the age he has, he is top”.
The coach also talked about the return of Reece James who has been out with an injury: “In this moment, it can be the solution: one game a week. In the future? I don’t know”.
“If we want to build his physical solution, it’s to go slowly, slowly to use once a weekly”.
