Cardiff Land Super Eagles Defender Osho in Permanent Transfer From Auxerre

Nigerian defender Gabriel Osho has been signed by Cardiff City, a Championship team, strengthening their defence in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

The 25-year-old centre-back for the Super Eagles of Nigeria returns to the United Kingdom after playing a crucial part in Auxerre’s Ligue 1 top-flight campaign.

Known for his strength in the air, poise with the ball, and adaptability in defence, Osho leaves Auxerre to sign a permanent contract with Cardiff.

Osho is an “experienced and reliable defender” who will provide Erol Bulut’s team with depth and leadership, according to Cardiff, which confirmed the transfer on Thursday.

Speaking after the transfer was announced, Osho expressed excitement at the move: “I’m delighted to join Cardiff City. This is a massive club with big ambitions, and I’m ready to give everything on the pitch to help the team achieve its goals this season.”

“I’m really happy and really excited. It’s been a long time in the works, so to finally be here at the stadium and in the city has been good. I’m buzzing to get going,” Osho told the club’s official website.

“Brian played a big part. It’s always important when the player has a good relationship with the manager. I had a really good time at Rochdale, and the connection I built with Brian and the staff there was pretty amazing. I think the relationship really was a contributing factor.

“I’ve been watching the games so far, and the atmosphere is amazing. Hopefully I can feed off the team’s momentum, get going straight away, and just keep the wins and the clean sheets going.”
