At least two teams have booked their places in the 2024/2025 Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

This follows the conclusion of some fourth round fixtures on Tuesday.

Brentford needed a penalty shoot-out win to see off Sheffield Wednesday.

Mark Flekken saved Liam Palmer’s penalty to send the Bees through 5-4 after the game ended 1-1. Kevin Schade gave the hosts an early lead before Djeidi Gassama’s second-half equaliser.

Southampton survived a scare against Stoke City to reach the last eight.

The Saints led through goals by Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Adam Armstrong, but Stoke levelled through Ashley Phillips and Tom Cannon, before James Bree scored late.
