The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) for the Adamawa by-Election, Abdulrahman Haske, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provided strong leadership that supported the peaceful conduct of bye-elections which took place on Saturday.

Haske said the President demonstrated that “he is not just a leader but a builder of future leaders, who is providing the enabling socio-political environment, through his exceptional leadership, in steering the affairs of the All Progressives Congress, APC, structures at all levels and also the entire polity.”

He spoke on Monday amid the emergence of Hon. Misa Musa Jaura of APC as the winner of the bye-election in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa, conducted to fill the vacancy in the state House of Assembly.

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Returning Officer for the bye-election, Prof. Tukur Ahmed declared Musa the winner, having scored a total of 16,923 to defeat his opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Buba Muhammad Joda, who got 16,794 votes.

The election, which was keenly contested, highlighted the vibrant democratic spirit of and the level of political awareness in the local government area.

“We express our deep gratitude to the people of Ganye Local Government for their enthusiastic participation in the electoral process,” Haske said in a statement, adding that the strong turnout and unwavering support by “the good people of Ganye LG area stood as a testament to the resilience and strength of democracy in our community.”

Haske also appreciated the leadership of the APC at the local, state, and federal level for its steadfast support and for entrusting him with the role of Chairman of the YAC during this by-election.

“My sincere appreciation goes to our party leader in Adamawa and National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and all other stakeholders in Adamawa State for their invaluable contributions throughout the process,” he added.

The YAC Chairman said the APC looks forward to working closely with Hon. Jauro to fulfil the party’s promises to the people of Ganye Local Government and to continue driving development across Adamawa State.
