Former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a great loss to Nigeria.

In a statement on Sunday, Ortom noted that Buhari occupied a significant chapter in the nation’s political history, having served as Head of State from 1984 to 1985 and as a democratically elected President between 2015 and 2023.

He acknowledged that the former president led the country through difficult times and contributed his quota to national development.

Ortom extended his condolences to the Buhari family and prayed for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul.
