Buhari’s burial scheduled for Tuesday after body arrives Katsina
The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in Katsina State by midday on Tuesday, July 15, ahead of his burial scheduled for 2:00 p.m. the same day in Daura.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made the announcement during a media briefing on Monday in Katsina, following discussions with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former president passed away.
The governor said the burial will follow Islamic rites, honoring Buhari’s faith and heritage.
“We pray Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus,” Governor Radda said.
He also extended condolences to the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We also condole His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give us the strength to bear this great loss.”
Governor Radda added that the burial arrangements are being coordinated by the state government, federal authorities, and the Buhari family to ensure a dignified and solemn farewell to the late leader.
