Brighton Celebrate Nnadozie’s Historic Ballon d’Or Féminin Nomination
Following Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie’s nomination for the coveted Ballon d’Or Féminin, Brighton & Hove Albion has joined the football community in applauding her.
After an outstanding season for both club and country in the previous calendar year, Nnadozie, who played for Paris FC in France, was selected as one of the finalists.
The 23-year-old was instrumental in Paris FC’s successful run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and French Division 1 Féminine, where her heroics in saving penalties and her imposing presence between the posts garnered international notice.
She gained even more recognition for her outstanding achievements for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Super Falcons advanced to the knockout stage thanks to Nnadozie’s pivotal saves, and many praised her as one of the tournament’s top goalkeepers.
Brighton, who played against Nnadozie in European action the previous season, celebrated their former opponent on their X handle in response to Nnadozie’s nomination.

Along with Nnadozie, Justin Madugu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, received a nomination for Best Women’s Coach. In Morocco, Madugu guided the Super Falcons to a record-equalling 10th WAFCON championship.
