A woman’s boyfriend has reportedly abducted her two-year-old child under suspicious circumstances after they spent a night together at a hotel in Asaba, Delta State.

According to the woman’s account in a trending social media video, the boyfriend, who claimed to be based in Awka and originally from Nnewi, had been in contact with her, sending her money and showing interest in her and her child

“This person came to where I am doing my POS business. He said he likes me and we exchanged numbers and started talking. I asked him what he did for a living, he said he is into tiling. I asked where he stayed, and he said he is from Nnewi, based in Awka, so that day he left.

“He started calling me after I closed from work, so when I got home, the following day we kept on talking. I told him that I wanted to make my hair, and he sent me money. All this while he used to send me money and he asked me if me my baby and I had eaten, he sent money to my account,” said the woman who didn’t provide her name.

The woman said that on the day of the incident, the boyfriend asked her to meet him at the hotel in Asaba, after work.

“So, he invited me to come to Anambra State. I told him that I can’t come with my baby. He said he is not bothered that I have a child. Even when he called me on video call, he would tell me to show him my baby. When I go to pick my baby from school, he will tell me that I should do a video of my baby.

“We kept on talking like that and he said I should not bother about anything. He will do everything that my baby’s father has failed to do for me. He said he is here to make me happy.

“There was a day he told me that he would come to Asaba for us to see, that day he called me back and told me that he couldn’t meet up. He then told me that he was coming to Asaba the next week and that we are going to stay together…and relax.

“So, he called me on the 15th and told me that he is in Asaba, that after work I should come and meet him in Kujik Hotel along the Ibuzor road. So when I closed…I went back home, got ready and met him at the hotel,” she narrated.

She narrated that the next day, the man had continued with his kind nature and had left the hotel to buy food for her and her child who was with her at the hotel.

“He was even with the one that put my baby to sleep. So, I was thinking maybe this person is nice because my baby’s father doesn’t even call me or ask about the baby. Even when I tell him that the baby is sick, he will not even show any concern. This boy was too caring. I was happy . I said my baby has seen someone that loves her.

“The following morning, he told me that he wants to go and get food, that he is very hungry. So, he went out to go and buy the food, when he went to buy the food, he came back with my own food and told me that he had eaten his own food where he got the food,” she said.

She added that after bringing her food, he had left the hotel again telling her this time that he wanted to get baby’s food for her baby., only to come back with a woman whom he said was his cousin.

“I was wearing my baby diaper when he came back and shouted, ‘surprise’, I said this kind of surprise. I was even thinking in my mind, what if I was naked and he just barged in with this girl. I said okay, thank God I have already worn my clothes before the girl came.

“The girl greeted me. She sat down on the chair. I was still on the bed. So, she touched my baby and asked for her name and I told her my baby’s name is Precious.

“The food that he brought before he left, I ate part of the food. So, he now asked the girl to go and get something for him in front of the hotel. The girl now was like auntie, let me carry Precious with me and agreed and she now left with my baby,” she narrated.

The distressed mother narrated that after the girl left, the man told her that he wanted to settle the hotel bills at the reception and left.

“So, he left. I was not really okay. After some time, I didn’t see the girl, my baby, or the man. For me to even come out, my legs were shaking, I was feeling like fainting. So, when I came out, I was asking the receptionist, did you see anyone carrying a baby? She said she didn’t see anyone.
“So, I was now shouting, my baby, my baby, I called him. He told me that he is close to the hotel. The next time I called the number, it was switched off,” she said.

The woman whose video was shared by activist Harrison Gwamnishu on his Facebook page, stated that since then, she has not heard from the boyfriend or received any information about her child’s whereabouts.

She added that she has reported the case to the police and pleaded with Nigerians to help her find her two year-old baby.
