Big shame on Turkish league – Onuachu blows hot after disallowed goal vs Fenerbahce
Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, was left fuming after his goal for Trabzonspor in their 1-0 defeat to Fenerbahce, was cancelled.
Onuachu saw his goal in the first half ruled out following a VAR check.
The Nigerian striker thought he had opened the scoring after rising above Milan Skriniar to head the ball in the 11th minute.
But referee Ozan Ergün was told to review the goal on the pitch side monitor, before he eventually cancelled for a foul in the build-up.
Onuachu protested the decision and was shown a yellow card for dissent.
The 31-year-old continued to voice his disappointment after the final whistle.
“It’s a shame for the Turkish league! They have to do better,” Onuachu told reporters while walking through the tunnel.
