It was a tense evening in the Big Brother Naija house as the weekly wager task saw housemates put their skills to the test before a panel of guest judges made up of Nollywood icons Eucharia Anunobi and Tony Umez, alongside Nigerian music stars Omawumi and Iyanya.
The wager, which determines the housemates’ food supply for the coming week, featured three rounds—a Supersport quiz, a Nigerian Idol-style singing contest, and an original drama presentation.
The singing performances provided memorable highlights. Omawumi and Iyanya commended Jason Jae for his performance and vocal delivery, though Tony Umez reminded him to always face the judges while performing.

Denari was scored low, with Omawumi handing him an “E for effort”. Mensan impressed with his rendition of Angel of My Life, earning a 10/10 from Eucharia Anunobi, who praised his stage control.
Koyin also drew positive remarks, with Omawumi applauding his outfit, Iyanya loving his energy, and Anunobi noting that while his energy dipped at the end, his stage usage was commendable.
The drama presentations, however, came under heavy fire. Team Lost and Found was faulted for inaudibility, poor timing, and a lack of audience engagement.
“You don’t back your audience. Be yourself, project your voice—your voice and expressions are your selling points,” Anunobi cautioned, scoring them 5/10.
Umez also criticised the king’s delivery as exaggerated and unconvincing, though he praised the queen’s measured acting.
Team Life of Pain received similar criticism. Judges noted their sketch lacked chronology and believability, with transitions appearing scattered. Still, individual performances, such as the father and the first wife, earned applause.
Omawumi reminded the group that even while entertaining, stagecraft must remain educative and true to life.
In his closing remarks, Big Brother acknowledged the housemates’ struggles but also praised their courage.
“If you had spent more time rehearsing, you could have done better. That is because Big Brother is certain about what you are capable of. However, Big Brother understands that you have had a busy week. “And considering your esteemed audience, big brother understands that the pleasure was quite high. In spite of that, you showed courage, and you gave a decent effort,” Biggie said, before announcing that the house had won their wager.
The announcement sparked cheers of relief as the housemates secured their food supplies for the week, with Big Brother urging them to see the critiques as free lessons from professionals.
