Barcelona To Appeal Osasuna Game Date

Barcelona Coach, Hansi Flick

Barcelona are unhappy with the date chosen by the Spanish Football Federation for their rescheduled match against Osasuna after it was postponed two weeks ago.

The match was originally set to hold on March 8 but it was postponed indefinitely following the death of the team’s Miñarro García, who died in his sleep in preparation for the game.

The Spanish Football Federation announced on Monday that the date for the rescheduled match has been fixed for March 27, which is just a few days after the international break.

Barcelona are unhappy with the date because their South American contingent will not be able to feature in the match due to the travel time.

Both Ronald Araujo and Raphinha will play their second match later on, and with travel time, they will not be able to make it.

Barcelona and Osasuna wanted the game to be fixed between May 18, and 25. But the football authorities in Spain rejected this option, as it falls between La Liga’s 37th and 38th rounds.

Hansi Flick’s men are currently still active in three competitions, in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa Del Rey.

The date does not favour Osasuna too, as they will be in action against Athletic Bilbao the following night.

Both clubs are unhappy with the date, they are expected to file appeals requesting a change of date in the next few days.
