Barcelona Suffer Casado Injury Blow
Barcelona have suffered a major injury blow after star player Marc Casado was ruled out of action for two months following a knee ligament tear against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
Casado suffered the injury in the 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid, and he was forced off in the 67th minute.
He withdrew from Spain’s Nations League squad for the clash against Netherlands on Thursday.
The club confirmed his injury on their website on Tuesday, while also announcing the timeframe for his recovery.
The Statement Reads: “It has been confirmed that he has a partial tear of the lateral collateral ligament of the right knee.
“He will be undergoing conservative treatment that means he is likely to be out of action for two months.”
Casado has been a key player for Barcelona this season with his impressive performances in the midfield, racking up 37 appearances in all competitions, while also earning praises for his maturity.
He is a defensive midfielder primarily, but has also played as right-back and centre-back.
The 21-year-old made his Barcelona debut against Atletico Madrid in March 2024.
Casado’s injury is a major blow for Barcelona ahead of the business end of the season as the Catalans are still actively involved in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa Del Rey.
