Bandits kill two, abduct 25, rustle cattle in Zamfara raids
Armed bandits have killed two people, abducted 25 others, and rustled several cattle in coordinated attacks on two villages in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attacks occurred late Friday night around 10:30 p.m. when the assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles, invaded Dogon Daji village in Nahuche District. During the raid, they abducted 25 residents, including men, women, and children, killed a local blacksmith, Muhammadu Kasu, and stole a motorcycle along with several cattle.
The bandits later attacked Danguro village in the same area, where they killed another resident, Aminu Abubakar, and stole five motorcycles before fleeing.
Troops of Operation FANSAR YANMA and other security operatives responded to a distress call and confirmed the incident.
Efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted victims, recover the rustled livestock, and track down the perpetrators.
