Bandits abduct ward councillor, others in Katsina

Several people, including a local government councillor, have been kidnapped by bandits during a night attack in Katsina State.

According to a post on Tuesday by security analyst Bakatsine on X, the attack happened late Monday night in Daudawa, a community in Faskari Local Government Area.

During the invasion, the armed men abducted Hon. Buhari Aliyu Daudawa, who serves as the councillor representing Daudawa ward, along with several other residents.

“Yesterday night, bandits invaded Daudawa in Faskari LGA, Katsina State. They abducted several people including the ward Councillor, Hon. Buhari Aliyu Daudawa during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.

The exact number of those taken is still unknown.

As of the time of this report, security agencies were yet to release an official statement on the incident.
