Suspected bandits have abducted several women and children in Tabkin Maza community of Bakura Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening, July 24, as residents fled into the nearby Masgo community to escape escalating insecurity in the area.

According to a post on Friday by security analyst Bakatsine via X:

“Bandits attacked residents of Tabkin Maza on Thursday evening as they sought refuge in Masgo, Bakura LGA, Zamfara. Many women and children were abducted. Locals say the bandits have set up a new camp in the western forest of Bakura.” the post read.

Residents are now calling for urgent intervention from the Zamfara State Government and security agencies to prevent further attacks.
