Awoniyi Rules Out Nottingham Forest Exit, Ready To Fight For Shirt

Super Eagles star, Taiwo Awoniyi has ruled out a January exit from Nottingham Forest, shutting down reports of a move to West Ham United.
The former Liverpool forward has been linked with a move away from the City Ground after losing his place in the team to Chris Wood, who has enjoyed an impressive form in the Premier League.
West Ham are in the market for a striker to replace Michael Antonio, who is recovering from a car crash which left him with a broken leg.
He is expected to be out of action for a year, so the Hammers are desperately looking for attacking reinforcements, which has led them to seek the services of Awoniyi.
Awoniyi has not started a Premier League game for Nottingham Forest this season, but he has revealed that he is ready to stay and help the team to achieve their European objectives.
He said: “Transfers are part of football, and there will always be speculation. But my focus is entirely on Nottingham Forest. This is a team with a lot of potential, and I want to be here to help achieve something special.
“I’m not thinking about leaving, rather I’m thinking about how I can contribute more to the success of this club.”
The 27-year-old is confident that he can help the team despite not being the first choice striker after getting assurances from the coaching crew.
He said: “I’ve spoken with the coaches, who’ve been very supportive. They see me as an important part of the squad, even if I’m not starting regularly.
“They’ve emphasised the importance of staying ready and being a team player. It’s reassuring to know that they value what I bring to the table, and it pushes me to keep giving my best.”
Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a successful season in the Premier League so far, sitting in the third position, six points behind Liverpool.
They are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, as they gear up to face Bournemouth on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.
Awoniyi joined the club in the summer of 2022, and he has scored 17 goals in 64 Premier League appearances.
