Audu Ogbeh Was A Patriot, Principled Politician – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has described the sudden demise of former Agriculture Minister, Chief Audu Ogbeh as a rude shock and loss of a patriot and principled politician.
Atiku said the late Audu Ogbeh was a quintessential gentleman, affable and amiable friend and a reliable political ally, whose immense contributions to nation-building would be sorely missed.
In a statement on Saturday, Atiku recalled the impactful tenure of Ogbeh as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2005.
The former vice president described the late politician as a multi-linguist, farmer, renowned family man, an Idoma community steward, and a great ambassador of Nigeria globally.
“He was a detribalised and development-minded politician. One who combined intellectualism with pragmatism. He was also a true defender of liberal democracy. His type is difficult to replace,” Atiku said.
He further described the late politician as a quintessential gentleman, affable and amiable friend, and reliable political ally whose immense contributions to nation-building would be sorely missed.
Atiku commiserated with the family and friends of the deceased politician, the people of Benue State, and Nigerians at large.
He prayed that the Almighty God to blissfully rest his soul and comfort his nuclear family, friends, and political associates.
