Atiku Lauds 17-Year-Old Nigerian Student Named World’s Best In English Competition
Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku has congratulated Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a 17-year-old student from Yobe State, on her remarkable recognition as the world’s best in English at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals.
In a post on X, Atiku described Nafisa’s success as a testament to the limitless potential of the Nigerian girl-child when provided with quality education and a supportive environment.
“Nafisa’s outstanding success serves as a powerful testament to the limitless potential of the Nigerian girl-child when provided with quality education and a supportive environment.
“Investing in the education of our girls is not just a matter of fairness; it is a strategic necessity for national transformation. Let us, as a community, commit to dismantling every barrier that prevents the girl-child from realizing her full potential,” Atiku said.
According to reports, Nafisa, a student of Nigerian Tulip International College, outshone over 20,000 participants from 69 countries to emerge as the World Best in English Language Skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.
The TeenEagle competition is an internationally recognized contest that assesses English proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills among students from both English-speaking and non-English-speaking nations.
Nafisa’s family attributed her success to dedication, discipline, and the enabling support of the state government, particularly the state governor, Mai Mala Buni’s visionary leadership.
“Our daughter’s global success would not have been possible without the visionary support for education by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose efforts have brought international honour to our state and nation,” said Hassan Salifu, head of Nafisa’s family.
The family also extended appreciation to Buni and the staff at Nigerian Tulip International College for nurturing Nafisa’s academic potential.
“Nafisa’s success is a testament to the power of educational investment. Governor Buni’s commitment has not only transformed schools in the state but also positioned Yobe and Nigeria on the global stage,” the family added.
