Arsenal Face Forward Crisis as Jesus Remains Sidelined; New Signings Provide Hope

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that striker Gabriel Jesus will continue to be unavailable for selection due to an injury sustained during last season’s encounter with Manchester United.

The Brazilian forward’s absence adds to the Gunners’ attacking concerns as they navigate a crucial period of fixtures.

However, the North London club has been active in addressing its squad depth with several notable acquisitions. Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, who previously worked under current Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP, is poised to make his first Premier League appearance in Arsenal colours.

The club has also strengthened their ranks with the additions of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, defender Cristhian Mosquera, midfielder Christian Norgaard, Spanish international Martin Zubimendi, and winger Noni Madueke.

In more positive news for Arsenal supporters, concerns surrounding Belgian winger Leandro Trossard’s fitness appear to have been resolved, with the club reporting no new injury problems within the squad.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arteta provided updates on key players’ conditions:

“I think he’s much better,” said Arteta at his press conference. “I think he will be able to train again tomorrow and, if that’s the case, he will be fit.

“He [Gyokeres] is getting better and better every day. He’s normally a really fit player. It’s true that he hasn’t trained so much with us. He had those two moments in games when he’s participated, and the feeling was very good, so let’s see what we do on Sunday.

“I’m really happy with [Zubimendi] and he will be fit.”

The Spanish manager’s comments suggest that both Trossard and new signing Zubimendi could be available for weekend selection, while Gyokeres continues his integration into the Arsenal system following his high-profile move from Portugal.
